Getting an answer has become almost effortless
A child can now ask a chatbot to explain a theorem, rewrite an essay or solve an equation in seconds. That changes education, but not because adults are suddenly unnecessary. It changes which adult work is most valuable.
The scarce parts of learning are choosing the right next problem, noticing when apparent understanding is shallow, sustaining attention and helping a young person keep going when the work becomes uncomfortable. A fluent answer on a screen cannot prove that any of those things happened.
The system should narrow the path, not remove the thinking
Good adaptive software can use a student’s work to adjust level, sequence and practice. It can give immediate feedback and revisit a prerequisite before a mistake becomes a habit. Used badly, the same technology can simply provide shortcuts or keep a child clicking without reflection.

The human role becomes more human

That is what parents should evaluate in any AI learning program: not whether it uses impressive technology, but whether the child is thinking, whether the sequence is responsive, whether learning is independently verified and whether a responsible adult remains accountable for the experience.
Ask what the system refuses to do
The most revealing product question is often about limits. Can the child ask the system to complete the task? Does a hint reveal so much that the learner can advance without understanding? Can a fluent explanation hide a wrong fact? Who decides when the software has misread the student, and can a responsible adult override it? A serious learning system should have clear answers because convenience and learning are not always aligned.
